Pre-history blog

key differences between humaans and other species:

Languages and abstract thought. They have communication, warning of predators and we can pass on culture.

Lucy was the first Australopithecines to be found. It was the first organism to walk upright and also had opposable thumbs.

The Handy man or Homo Habilis was the first tool maker. They made uni-facial tools but because they only had the brain of the modern 2 year old and they didn't develope bi-facial tools. Or they did but they all got destroyed as history went along its business.

The next to evolve was Homo Erectus. They migrated from Africa and domesticated fire. They also made clothing. They developed bi-facial tools and were said to be canibals because of the marks on the inside of the skulls that were found in caves and homes of they slightly evolved creatures. They were compared to the Alaskans teeth and found out that they are almost alike. They also were the first to use cooperative hunting to get their food.

Now on to the Homo Sapiens sapiens. Thanks for Lucy evolving and walking upright and having opposing thumbs we are what we are now and a few more brain cells I'm sure. We are by far the most intelligent of all the past humans because we are so technalogically advandced than the others.

The next thing is neanderthals. They lived 200,000 to 300,000 years ago. They were very like us except they went extinct. They used advanced tools to build anything large. They buried their dead and were alturistic (they cared for others.) That and they were language capable.

Now on to cro-magnon. They lived 40,000 years ago and lived in Africa. They moved and took over Europe. They were the first to have jewelry and art. They started to have social classes like the world today.
